I see that it is a SWISS movement. I am still curious as to the movement of the second hand. Is it a continuous movement or is there a "tick" with each second that passes? Just want to make sure before I submit my order.

For the Swiss ETA movements, which direction should they be set in a watch winder...clockwise, counter clockwise, or alternating?

You shout set them only clockwise.
Also, if it's a day-date watch you have to set it counter clockwise on the date position.

No, the chronographs on this model are not functional. The chronographs only work on our Swiss model watches, this is a Japanese model and as such the chronographs are for show only.
